Terminations 2009: Have we turned the corner?
Friday, 19/06/09 08:00 - 09:00
Location: Verity, Toronto Room, 111d Queen Street East, Toronto, Ontario
Organized by Rubin Thomlinson

Rubin Thomlinson LLP invites you to attend a breakfast seminar

These are tumultuous times for employers and employees. Not a day goes by without hearing about terminations, cost cutting measures and bankruptcies. The unemployment rate is steadily climbing, with more and more Canadians now looking for work. The recession has taken a serious toll on workplaces across the country.

RT invited close to 4000 contacts to participate in a survey designed to identify what has happened within their organizations in the last year, and to see whether the termination trend will continue for the rest of 2009 and into 2010. RT wanted to know whether we have turned the corner on downsizing and cut backs.

Join the breakfast session to hear about the survey results, to discuss:
• Which industries have been the hardest hit
• What kinds of employees have been most vulnerable
• The impact of downsizing on those left in the workplace
• Lessons learned through this recession
• What cost cutting measures have been most often used
by employers

Continental breakfast will be provided, and participants will receive hand-out materials.
